My Why
As a mother and wife, I know that when you're in the thick of it—whether that's trying to finish school, building a life with your partner, adjusting to parenthood, or raising children—planning for photos can often feel daunting. Trust me when I say, you’ll look back with nostalgia on those chapters that felt so hard, yet so beautiful. I’m here to capture those moments with a genuine, nostalgic style, so you can always be brought back to that feeling of love and connection. And the good news is, I've been in your shoes, so you'll find that your session will be fun to plan and refreshingly laid-back.
I haven't stopped thinking about photography or learning about photography since I got my hands on a real camera in 2019.
I’m a born and raised West Virginian. Growing up wild and free in West Virginia taught me to find beauty in a plain ole day. I've loved photography since my MySpace days, but I didn’t have access to proper photography equipment or programs until a teaching job in 2019 introduced me to Adobe and gave me access to a camera. I had to teach myself Photoshop and how to use a camera before I could teach my students, though. I dove right in.
Soon enough, I got a camera of my own and began to dream a little dream. That dream quickly became a daydream I found myself thinking about often, and it only grew bigger over time.
After completing my family with the arrival of my second baby in 2023, I decided to make the most of my maternity leave by doing model calls and letting myself slowly chip away at achieving that little dream.
Trying to chase a dream while raising two kids and working in education wasn’t easy. Some days, I felt crazy, being in my 30s and still pursuing this dream. But I’m so thankful I did. I kept that dream locked away for a long time, and now, having it as my job is truly the biggest dream come true.
